Things you should NOT do when using the Shark NV360 vacuum cleaner

The Shark Navigator Lift NV360 has been one of the top 10 vacuum cleaners and a household name during recent years. This is thanks to its strong suction, smart design, and the sweet, sweet spot between durability and price that it happens to fall between. Users online have fallen heads over heels for this vacuum, but did you know that there are things you should never, under any circumstances, do when using this machine?

If that sounds like alien news to you, then this article is for you. Read on to find out what are the things that are posing danger to a safe use of the 360 vacuum cleaner, and find out how many you have been doing. It is not your fault to not know, but it is your fault for not trying to know better.

  • Do not vacuum large objects

The Shark NV360 is renowned for its excellence in cleaning dirt and debris of multiple sizes. In efficiency tests, this machine was able to suck away up to 95% of all of the particles laid out in its path, including bread crumbs and cereal grains. However, large objects, such as toys, should not be put under the machine. The reason is because this can cause problems of blockage, causing the machine to shut down.

Don’t worry, it won’t explode. Shark is among the best vacuum cleaner brands in terms of safety. The NV360 has a safety mechanism installed inside that measures the temperature of the cleaner. Whenever this temperature reaches above the acceptable level, the cleaner will automatically shut down to prevent overheating, avoiding explosions. For this reason, be mindful NOT to put any objects that can trigger overheating.

  • Do not put sharp objects inside

We have all broken a glass at least once or twice in our lifetime. Whenever this happens, we just want something to quickly clean up the mess. What can possibly suck away all the fragments faster than a powerful vacuum cleaner?

But did you know that this is one of the things prohibited by Shark? Vacuuming sharp objects can damage the machine. These objects, when inside, can wreak the cleaning brush and the internal mechanics of the machine. Even worse, they mess with the HEPA filter, which will permanently damage the cleaner’s ability to purity the air.

  • Do not put the vacuum in contact with liquid

It is common knowledge that electricity and water have never been best friends. But for vacuum cleaners, this idea might be less obvious than it sounds.

Because suction power is essentially wind, some of us might think it would be a great idea to use the vacuum cleaner to aerate the floor. However, when water gets sucked inside anything electrical, there is no promise of what it can do. The same is true for vacuuming outdoors. Be very careful to only use the cleaner on dry surfaces, as no vacuum—not even The Best Vacuum Cleaner in the world—is designed to deal with water.

Above are the things to look out for when vacuuming with the NV360. Despite how many stars it receives on all kinds of best vacuum cleaner brands, machines are just machines. They are not without a close and careful monitoring of a human user. Don’t let your experience be ruined by careless use. With that, good luck!
